Crumbs32

Crumbs from the Master ‘s Table 32 : Gentleness

The word translated gentleness is also translated humility and meekness. I remember hearing Billy Graham say that the word carried the idea of a horse that has been broken in. It is strength under control.

Christ is Meek 2 Corinthians 10:1.By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” toward you when away. Meekness is the very essence of Christ.

Psalm 45:4 In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds. , Palm Sunday when claiming His kingship meekness was His hallmark

Matthew 11: 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. When appealing to weary, overburdened humanity it is His gentleness, His meekness, that He says qualifies Him to help

Meekness qualifies for responsibility Numbers 12:3 Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth. Matthew 5:5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. When God wanted a leader to take about a m recently freed slaves He chose the meekest man available and He chose the meek to bequest the planet

Meekness is essential in teaching Galatians 6:1Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. , 2 Timothy 2:25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, In teaching and particularly correcting the temptation is to be harsh. Christ’s way, the Christian way is to be gentle. We too can be tempted.

Meekness should be pursued and shown Titus 3:2to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. ,Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience 1 Timothy 6:11But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness .Let gentleness be what we present to the community and the necessary ingredient in our relationships. It is part of the fruit the Spirit would produce in our beings and our lives. Let’s culivate it
